Clubroot of Canola is a serious soil-borne disease that has been established in many Canola fields in Alberta. The Alberta Government has declared Clubroot of Canola a pest and is now listed under the Agricultural Pest Act. Spores spread the disease through the movement of soil.
For this reason Kneehill County, Red Deer County and The County of Stettler require that all construction equipment and vehicles be free of Clubroot contaminated soil that enters onto agricultural production fields within the said Counties. It is recommended that all equipment being brought into or transported within the said Counties be properly cleaned by either steam cleaning or pressure washing to control the spread of Clubroot disease.
