Companies who travel regularly outside of Alberta into other Provinces throughout Canada or into the United States may benefit by pro-rating their vehicles for multiple jurisdictions. Rather than obtaining and paying for plates and registration in each jurisdiction, prorate offers the advantage of proportionate licensing in Alberta. Fees are calculated based on the percentage of travel planned in each jurisdiction.
RDS can assist your company in establishing and maintaining a prorated fleet. Let RDS help you determine if prorating some or all of your fleet is the best way to move from Province to Province.

The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is a voluntary program allowing qualified carriers to file quarterly reports of distance travelled and fuel purchased rather than obtaining and paying for single trip permits for fuel tax. RDS can coordinate all aspect of reporting under IFTA. This can be especially complex in the oilfield sector as there is usually a mix of on and off highway mileage and fuel consumption is difficult to track.
