National Safety Code
There are two types of carriers that fall under the National Safety Code (NSC);
Provincial Carriers and Federal Carriers.
Provincial Carriers are defined as operators of commercial vehicle(s) who
operate only within Alberta. All vehicles with a registered weight of 11794 KGS
or more must comply with the NSC Standards as implemented in Alberta.
Federal Carriers are defined as operators of commercial vehicle(s) who operate
within Alberta and operate into other Jurisdictions. All vehicles with a registered
weight of 4500 KGS must comply with the NSC Standards as implemented in Alberta.
