SK Spring Restrictions

To help protect roadway infrastructure throughout the province, blanket spring restrictions can be placed on roadways. Typically, spring road restrictions start the first week of March and they may be in place for up to six weeks. Unless additional approval is received from the Rural Municipality, you will need to meet set weights allowed during Spring Restrictions. Official spring restriction orders are issued every Tuesday and Friday (with the exception of Good Friday) by 12:30 PM (CST). You can search for the latest road ban order by visiting www.saskatchewan.ca and search "road ban order"

If all axle groups are below the spring restriction weight but the GVW exceeds 49000kg on RM grid roads and secondary highways or 53500kg on all other roadways, then an overweight permit is required.

Applications exceeding spring restrictions are subject to special approval. If special approval is obtained to move above spring restrictions; a copy of the RM permit must be sent to the SGI Permit office before a Provincial Permit can be issued.
